Green Beans with Paprika

Green beans steeped in a wonderful nutty flavor from browned butter. While caramelized onions and paprika added terrific depth to this simple dish.

  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 lb green beans, cut unto 1 inch pieces (3 cups)
  • salt
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  1. Fry the onion in butter until soft (~5 minutes)
  2. Add paprika, beans, salt, and water. Simmer until tender (~25 minutes)
  3. Mix flour with sour cream, then stir into beans. Simmer for 5 minutes.
